Targets

Assign targets to specific activities and track your employee's progress in real time

Create targets

If a target is reached for an employee you will be able to reward them for a full day's work even if there is still time left in the day.

Navigate to Management / Costing and click on the Targets tab. Each target is created with a specific target date. This indicates from which date this target will be active. You can create multiple targets over a period of time.

Targets can be configured for the following activities.

Harvesting

Set a specific daily target for each Variant. The target can be linked to the unit (crate, bag) or calculated unit (kg). Click on the "+ Add" button:

  1. Select the type "Harvesting (Variant)"

    • The targets are linked to specific variant of a given crop. This will allow you to set separate targets for variants that may be easier to harvest than other. If the effort to harvest each variant is the same, create a target for every variant.

  2. Select the Variant

  3. Set the interval to daily

  4. Select the target unit

    • Per unit: This is the value captured on the device i.e. crates, lug, bags etc.

    • Per calculated unit: This is the unit that is calculated with a factor i.e. kilograms etc.

  5. Target per unit/calculated unit - provide the target number

  6. Target Date - the target will only be valid from this date. If a new target is created with a newer date, that one will be used.

    • It is possible to backdate a target, select a date of a year ago

  7. Click on save

Employee Activity

How do targets work?

On a farm a specific employee rarely spends the entire day on a single activity. That is why it is still possible to reach your daily target, without reaching a single target.

Scenario 1

Employee A only participates in one activity:

Employee A spends his entire day harvesting a specific Variant of Macadamia nuts. The farmer configured a daily target of 15 crates for that Variant. At the end of the day that employee harvested 16 crates. That is 16/15 crates, which is 106% of his target.

This employee successfully completed his daily target.

Scenario 2

Employee B participates in multiple activities:

Employee B starts the day out pruning grape vines. The farmer configured a daily target of 10 vines for the pruning activity. Half way through the day the employee only pruned 5 vines.

After lunch the farmer assigns Employee B to a new activity, weeding. The farmer configured a target of 50 meters for the weeding activity. By the end of the day the employee only managed to complete 30 meters of weeding.

At the end of the day the employee's target progress is:

  • Pruning: 5/10 vines = 50% of his target

  • Weeding: 30/50 meters = 60% of his target

At the end of the day Employee B completed 50% + 60% = 110% of his daily goals, he will be rewarded.

It is possible to reach your daily target without completing a single target.
